"Why friends are like books...
~ We never judge a book by it's cover. (Okay, we do, but only because we love us sum eye candy!! =)
~ Every book is different to each of us, in it's own special way and every book is special to us in every way.
~The variety in our books is the same in our friendship... we are all different, but together, we make up one hell'va a story!!!

~ We know that we can always count on a good book to make us feel better!! We call them keepers!
Those are just a few reasons why friends are like books...
I am glad that I happened upon you... just like so many of my books...
You will forever be on my Keeper Shelf!!!
Thank you for being my friend!!"

Thank you so much,Esme at Chocolate & Croissants

The following awards were posted by Cecile at All I Want And More...The rules were if you read her post the awards were yours so I took them all. Thanks,Cecile!

The Lemonade Award is a “Feel Good” award that shows a great attitude or gratitude.

The Bloody Great Blogger award is to be given to 5 bloggers who have been supportive and extra special to you in the blogging process. That person who always comments or the one who emails you to let you know about that Freudian slip you missed, the blogger who links to your posts or lifts you up when your blog is down.

And on Wednesday last week I picked up my daughter from school and happened to mention I was so tired I need a holiday. She then said"Let's go away this weekend".I immediately booked us a weekend at Sun City and on Friday we left.Me and my girl,3 hours behind schedule. We stopped at the petrol station, filled up the car, bought goodies to eat for the road. She has the designated duty of putting the hazards on to say "thank you" when cars pull over so you can overtake them when the road only has one lane. This is something that is done quite a lot in SA (not sure bout the rest of the world) but it works like this. They move over into the emergency lane so you can pass without going over into the oncoming traffic lane, you put on your hazzards to say thank you, they then flash their lights to say "It's a pleasure!!" and off you go!!

Summer has just started in SA so we needed to catch up on our tans.So on Saturday we went to the Valley Of The Waves, then moved on to the Palace swimming pool then made our way down to the main Sun City hotel pool. This was after having breakfast which was eat as much as you like.Problem with this for me is as soon as I see a lot of food my stomach gets full before I even start eating. So I eat really fast so I can get in as much as possible to try and con my brain.Doesn't really work though.By lunchtime I'm thinking, boy!! why didn't I eat more???always.always happens to me!!

Here are some pics. There are monkeys running around and they are so naughty. They steal the sugar and generally create chaos. And my daughter kept on telling me not to make eye contact because then they try to steal stuff out of your bags. They were really cute!!We had a great weekend!! Sunday was overcast so we left earlier than we wanted to but it was just as great to get home.I am a real homebody! As far as I am concerned the best part of going out is coming home.As my daughter would say "U such a loser,Mom!" It was really good to spend some time alone with my baby girl.Okay she is 15 but still my baby girl!!At one stage I took a look at her and realised she is all grown up.Where did the time go? I still remember her arguing with me at age 3 about what she was going to wear to school. She had the strangest taste in clothes. Some things never change! And the horrible flat shoes they wear nowadays? She is actually quite short (takes after my Mom) and she insists on wearing these flat chinese shoes that are so ugly but apparently that's the fashion and I am still praying for platforms to come back in fashion.I like being 6 feet tall!!

BIG Problem!! We are busy packing to move house and it looks like my camera box with my cables have been packed away so I now cannot download the pics.So I thoughtI would do this one which is already on my computer of me reading my kindle and my little boy reading his little book.As soon as I find my cables again I will post the Sun City pics.Sorry....

Hope everyone had a GREAT weekend!

  1. Awww, Yvette, you know I love ya!!!!
You deserve all those awards! And I am glad that I did not have to cyber kick your butt for you to take them!!! =)
And your trip sounded wonderful!!! A little jealous! But I am so agreeing with you... my baby is a 15yr old daughter too! And a tear came to my eye... Remembering arguing with her when she was 3 about her choice in clothing, not knowing that is what the next twelve years would have in store for me... Now we are homecoming dress shopping and it is still the same thing, lol!!! Expect my daughter is 5'8" (I am 5'5" and hubby is 5'2", lmao) and she loves high heels... the higher the better!!!
I am glad that you had a great weekend and I hope your Monday is just as special (as you are)!!!
