I am hosting my very own book giveaway!!

Heath Ledger-Hollywood's Dark Star by Brian J Robb
Heath Ledger was one of the most charismatic actors of his generation. After establishing a high-profile Hollywood career at the age of 21 with the lead in "A Knight's Tale," Ledger pursued a series of increasingly diverse, often subversive roles that belied his image as a teen idol. Edgier films such as "Monster's Ball" gave tantalizing hints of his talent, but it wasn't until "Brokeback Mountain" that he proved beyond question the full extent of his abilities. His sudden death rocked the film industry and threw a poignant shadow over the body of work that has now become his legacy. Here, Brian J. Robb explores Ledger's relationships with actresses Michelle Williams, Naomi Watts, and Heather Graham, recounts the making of "Brokeback Mountain" and the film's impact, and charts Ledger's increasingly troubled state of mind. "Heath Ledger: Hollywood's Dark Star" paints a memorable portrait of a compelling and intense young man whose loss will be felt for years to come.Heath Ledger: Hollywood's Dark Star

Heath Ledger:His Beautiful Life And Mysterious Death by John McShane
Young, cocksure, handsome and absurdly talented, Australian actor Heath Ledger shot to prominence with his first Hollywood film 10 Things I Hate About You : and a star was born. With huge charisma and smouldering looks lighting up the screen in a series of subsequent films, Heath was soon established as Hollywood A-list, dating a series of beauties such as Heather Graham and Naomi Watts, and living every young man's dream. But it was his award-winning and controversial role as Ennis Del Mar in Brokeback Mountain that cemented his place in the pantheon of acting greats - he was one of the youngest people ever to be nominated for an Oscar. And it was on the set of this film that he fell in love with his co-star Michelle Williams. Though the relationship wasn't to last, the couple had a daughter in 2005.With the world at his feet and a film-stealing turn in the new Batman movie, The Dark Knight , in the can, there was worldwide shock and disbelief when the news broke that he had been found dead in his New York apartment on 22 January 2008. Prescription drugs, found next to his dead body, were thought to be the cause, but mystery surrounded the circumstances. Was it an accidental death? Or were the pressures of life in the spotlight too great to bear? What is certain is that this young man, who touched the lives of so many people, leaves behind a grief-stricken public and family, including a two-year-old daughter. This is the tragic story of the brilliant actor whose light shone so brightly but all too briefly upon the world.

I have been thinking about doing this for a while now and originally thought I should do a giveaway of Blonde Ambition-Anna Nicole Smith by Rita Cosby because the original giveaway I had on this blog was in the early days and not many people took part.THEN I ordered the book myself and I think that after I have read it and posted a review, and then maybe I could offer the book under my "own" giveaway sometime soon.

But for this giveaway I have chosen 2 books about Heath Ledger.I can still picture him in a Knight's Tale and I was so shocked when I found out he had died.So basically the rules are as follows:

-You have to be a follower and/or subscriber (my way of saying thank you to my loyal following)
-I will be giving away 1 book to one of my US/Canada readers and 1 book to any of my International readers.
-Please leave a comment with your e mail address in code
i.e. yk(at)toptruecrimebooks(dot)com and also whether you qualify as US/Canada or International
-Include whether you subscribe via reader/email or you are a follower
-Mention which one of the above books on Heath Ledger you would prefer.
-the winners will have the option of receiving the book or an Amazon gift card to the same value-your wish is my command!!!
-this book giveaway ends 30 June 2009.

-New followers/subscribers are welcome. If you are not sure how to become one please see links below.Any one of these options will do.
